What You Get
Safety Check transfers enough funds to cover your overdraft plus any fees.1 Transfers are rounded up to the nearest $100. And if multiple overdrafts occur on the same day, one transfer will be made to cover those overdrafts as long as the funds are available in your savings or money market account.
How It Works
To apply, you need a checking account2 and either a linked Day-to-Day Savings or money market account. You can only use one savings or money market account as the contributing account for Safety Check.
Also keep in mind that:
- Safety Check only covers check overdrafts—not overdrafts from online bill payments, transfers or debit card purchases
- Only 6 pre-authorized transactions can be made from a savings or money market account each statement period—including Safety Check transfers
