  • Online & Mobile Fraud Protection is a free service that helps to cover you against loss in the unlikely event there are unauthorized electronic funds transfers (EFT) in your Citibank deposit accounts.

    • Market Rate Account*
    • Passbook Savings*

    * Not offered through Citi Online but may be available at Citibank Financial Centers.

    If you think someone has withdrawn or transferred money without your permission from your deposit account on Citi Online, Citi MobileSM or Citibank for iPad®, or that your User ID or Password have been lost or stolen:

    1. Online and Mobile Fraud Protection applies to an unauthorized electronic funds transfer (EFT) from a deposit account only. It does NOT cover losses arising directly or indirectly from the voluntary surrender of your password or Personal Identification Number (PIN) and ATM, point-of-sale (POS) or debit transactions using your Citibank Banking Card. It does NOT cover Citi Personal Wealth Management investment accounts. In addition, Online and Mobile Fraud Protection does NOT cover any: (i) wire transfers; (ii) losses arising out of fraudulent, dishonest or criminal acts by a customer, whether acting alone or with others; (iii) capital gain, income and profit of any kind that might have been earned on any transaction that could not be completed as a consequence of an unauthorized EFT transaction; (iv) indirect or consequential or special losses or damages; or (v) costs, expenses and legal fees incurred as a result of an unauthorized EFT transaction.
    2. If you learn that your Password or PIN is lost or stolen, please be aware that you must contact us within two business days. Otherwise, you could be responsible for up to $500 worth of unauthorized online or mobile transactions.
    3. If we need more time, we may take up to 45 days to investigate your claim.
